On the nineteenth anniversary of 9/11, 13-year-old artist and activist Keedron Bryant released his uplifting debut EP I JUST WANNA LIVE [Warner Records], which is a joyful ode to the resilient human spirit. Working closely with legendary producer Dem Jointz (Mariah Carey, Brandy, Anderson .Paak), Keedron showcases his mature vocal delivery, elevated harmonies, and a vibrant sound that naturally fuses gospel, R&B, and soul. Keedron Bryant soared onto the global radar with his energizing single “U GOT THIS” and the timely, debut title track “I JUST WANNA LIVE,” recognizing Juneteenth and adding a strong voice to the current racial justice movement. Two mixes further power the anthem on the EP — an all-star rendition featuring musical powerhouses Andra Day, Lucky Daye & IDK, and the Gospel Spirit Mix, produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel legends Charles Jenkins and Aaron Lindsay. Keedron Bryant moved the world to tears singing acapella on a smartphone-shot video,with nothing more than his powerhouse voice and the declaration, “I’m a young black man doing all that I can.” The 13-year-old Florida native’s YouTube performance of “I JUST WANNA LIVE” surged around the globe as a clarion call for change and the unassuming soundtrack to a moment of revolution. He performed the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show via FaceTime, and received acclaim from Good Morning America, CNN, The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation, Access Hollywood, and BBC News. Will Smith incorporated the clip in his “No Justice, No Peace” montage, and LeBron James posted it on Instagram with the caption, “I LOVE YOU KID! I LOVE US!” None other than President Barack Obama also cited it.
