AAFCA and Amazon Prime Video NY Special Screening for the Series “House of David”
On Thursday, February 27, 2025, industry guests and the press filled the theater for the AAFCA x Prime Video Special NY Screening of HOUSE OF DAVID. The screening was followed by a & Q&A with rising star, Michael Iskander (David), Martyn Ford (Goliath), and Ayelet Zurer (Queen Ahinoam), moderated by Sherri Shepherd’s executive producer, Jawn Murray.
The cast discussed the beauty of filming in Greece and the joy of being on a special historic location to film the powerful show. Michael and Martyn also discussed their process and thoughts of playing such iconic biblical characters; with Martyn even sharing his goal was to get people to empathize with Goliath to see another side of the well-known tale. The cast also touched on how more and more faith-based content is being created in order to keep up with audiences growing demand for these projects.
The official soundtrack for the series is also now available on all music streaming platforms and features Grammy Award Winning artist Tori Kelly, Lecrae, Tasha Cobbs, Blessing Offor and more.

The HOUSE OF DAVID tells the story of the ascent of the biblical figure, David, who eventually becomes the most renowned and celebrated king of Israel. The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. As Saul loses his power over his kingdom, David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace. As one leader falls, another must rise.
Based on an idea by Jon Erwin, the cast includes: Newcomer Michael Iskander (Kimberly Akimbo on Broadway); Ali Suliman (Jack Ryan, Arthur the King) as King Saul; Ayelet Zurer (Angels and Demons, Man of Steel) as Queen Ahinoam, Saul’s trusted wife; Stephen Lang (Avatar: The Way of Water, Don’t Breathe) as Samuel; Indy Lewis (Industry, King and Conqueror) as Mychal, the King and Queen’s daughter; and Martyn Ford (Mortal Kombat 2, The Sandman) as Goliath.
