Angela Simmons Selected As the Student Leadership Network’s 5k Run/Walk Ambassador in NYC on June 15th

The Student Leadership Network launches its first annual “Step Ahead” 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 15 that Riverside Park in New York City and has enlisted Angela Simmons as the Ambassador. This event provides a unique opportunity to reach a diverse audience and most importantly, contribute to a future where students are able to continue their education and fulfill their dream of going to college, and many of these students will be the first in their family to attend college.

The Step Ahead 5K Run/Walk is the onsite culmination of a nationwide social campaign of #StudentLeadershipDay. This day serves to recognize and celebrate the young leaders that benefit from the Student Leadership Network and its overall mission to provide access to educational opportunities that prepare them to lead successful lives. The event will raise awareness and funding for Student Leadership Network and its CollegeBound Initiative, a program that highlights the work of College Counseling Directors who together develop a tight-knit partnership with school administrators and parents to ensure that students succeed.
