For the month of June, on Xfinity X1, Xfinity BLACK FILM & TV will celebrate Black Music Month with an extensive look inside ‘A New Era of Sound,’ a series of tailored music collections highlighting new and popular trends in music. ‘A New Era of Sound’ is a customized experience representing all genres of Black music, including Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, Gospel, Jazz and more. This collection will give artists a place to display their talent.

For decades, Black music has been an outlet for artists to paint vivid pictures of their life experiences, shed light on social issues, honor monumental cultural moments, embrace cultural heritage, and bring the community together. On the Xfinity VOD platform, ‘A New Era of Sound’ will highlight new music in popular genres, by hot upcoming artists, and the old school influences that impact today’s music.

To continue the month-long celebration of Black music, Xfinity is teaming up with SoFar Sounds and multi-platinum selling artist and Fifth Harmony member Dinah Jane, to launch Xfinity’s “Future of Awesome Tour,” a 12-city concert series designed to connect emerging local artists and fans with the music they love. The tour kicks off this summer in Chicago on June 14th and will also appear in some of Comcast’s top markets: Atlanta, Philadelphia and Detroit.
