While the world is celebrating the 50th anniversary and the birth of Rap aka Hip-Hop, we can hardly ignore what type of impact this particular genre of music has made on the entire world. In addition, no one can deny how important the footprint of the legendary DJ Hollywood is for the Hip-Hop world even till today. DJ Hollywood, real name Anthony Holloway is influential in so many ways. Some people even call him the Godfather of Rap.
Recently, BET Networks held a pre-party to the BET Awards on June 24, 2023. The party was held in Harlem at the Blvd. Bistro. DJ Hollywood was in attendance for the event. He was there to enjoy the festivities, but he as also there to share his experience and rise was ad the legendary DJ he is today.
In the music industry, DJ Hollywood is the first to know about which new artists had a buzz and what songs are were well-liked by the audiences and would even become hits. He was a DJ that knew how to select and play music using multiple turntables to backup one or more rappers.
His influence on the genre he helped to pioneer is evident in the styles of many DJ such as Kid Capri, Biz Markie and Lovebug Starsky, as well as rappers who specialize in crowd participation like Kurtis Blow and Doug E Fresh.
With this year celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, DJ Hollywood is definitely one to be considered a true legend.
