Krishan Trotman is a powerhouse and if you don’t know her, you will very soon. She is an executive editor at Hachette Books, one of New York City’s premier book publishing houses. She is one of the few African-American publishing executives, and has committed over 15 years to publishing books about multicultural voices and social justice, focused on narrative nonfiction drawing from compelling storytelling and dedicated research.

The executive’s latest editorial project, her debut as co-author with Brenda Jones, is entitled Queens of the Resistance. The series of four works will be published Summer 2020 before the Democratic National Convention. Each title celebrates a political hero: Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Nancy Pelosi, and Maxine Waters in a fusion of narrative, photos, and beautiful illustrations.
