Rihanna’s New “Friend Of Mine” Song from the Smurfs Movie

The SURFS Movie was released on July 18, 2025.

Prior to the movie release, Rihanna released “Friend Of Mine” from Paramount Animation’s SMURFS Movie Soundtrack via Roc Nation Distribution. Rihanna stars as Smurfette in the film. “Friend Of Mine” is the second song to come off the soundtrack following “Higher Love” by DESI TRILL featuring DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania and Subhi. “Higher Love” also saw an official music video — watch HERE. In addition to the already star-studded cast, the soundtrack featured a new song from Tyla.

The film focuses on when Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.

The SMURFS movie features an all-star voice cast including Rihanna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña, Marshmello, with Kurt Russell and John Goodman.
