The Good Fight Actors Delroy Lindo and Nyambi Nyambi Attend the 2019 American Black Film Festival

Legendary stage, film, and television actor Delroy Lindo was in attendance at the 2019 American Black Film Festival. While there, he talked about his very successful career and even share tips for his success. In addition, Lindo was accompanied by his “The Good Fight” co-star Nyambi Nyambi.

Both actors discussed their current roles and even shared stories of how they came into the business, past roles and what they expect and plan to do in the future.

Lindo’s extensive acting career includes memorable roles in films such as David Mamet’s Heist and as Mr. Rose in The Cider House Rules. Most recently, he appeared in the films Point Break, Battlecreek, and Shakespeare’s Cymbeline. He garnered critical acclaim for his role as Rodney in Spike Lee’s drama Clockers, and worked with Lee on Crooklyn and Malcolm X, earning an NAACP Image Award nomination for his portrayal of West Indian Archie. Other notable film credits include Wondrous Oblivion, The Core, The Last Castle, Domino, The One, Gone in 60 Seconds, Ransom (“Best Supporting Actor” NAACP Image Award nomination), A Life Less Ordinary, Get Shorty, Feeling Minnesota, Romeo Must Die, Devil’s Advocate, This Christmas (also as executive producer), and Pixar’s UP!

Nyambi Nyambi starred alongside Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy in Mike & Molly for its entire six seasons, and had recurring roles on PBS’s Mercy Street and American Koko, a digital series for ABC Digital and Viola Davis’ production company, JuVee Productions.

Nyambi participated in New York City’s Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park productions of The Merchant of Venice and The Winter’s Talealongside cast members that included Al Pacino and Ruben Santiago-Hudson. His other theater credits include the first Broadway revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, the role of Caliban in Classic Stage Company’s The Tempest opposite Mandy Patinkin and various other productions for theaters that include The Classical Theatre of Harlem and the Williamstown Theater Festival. Also, he is a proud member of the Labyrinth Theatre Company based in New York City.

Off-Broadway, Delroy appeared in The Exonerated, and played Bynum in Joe Turner’s Come and Gone at the Young Vic Theatre in London. Lindo directed the plays Blue Door and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone to critical acclaim at the Berkeley Repertory Theater and won a Los Angeles Theater Weekly Award (2006) for directing Medal of Honor Rag. Lindo has an honorary doctorate in Arts and Humanities from Virginia Union University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (cum laude) from San Francisco State University (2004), and a master’s degree from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study (2014).

Both actors, have amazing careers and seemed to seek out role that resonate with fans. The characters they currently portray in “The Good Fight” are members and definitely keep us coming back for more each week.
